Dr. Judson and Staff would like to welcome current or former patients of Dr. Maureen Gowanlock and Grafton street Dental to our practice.

Dr. Judson purchased Dr. Gowanlock's dental practice and Grafton Street Dental in May of 2013. All patient records have been transferred to Dr. William Judson.

We invite all current and former patients of Dr. Gowanlock and Grafton Street Dental to come in to Dr. Judson's dental clinic at 110 Kensington Road in Charlottetown. We look forward to helping you with your oral health.

  1. Are you accepting new patients?
    1. Yes
    2. New patients are always welcome.
      Patients often ask if they can refer patients to us. Our response is that new patients are always welcome, to come have a chat and check us out.


     
  2. What should I bring for the first visit?
    1. A list of your current medications, drug allergies and medical history.
    2. Any dental appliance(s) you have, whether you are currently wearing them or not.
    3. Your x-rays from your previous dentist(s), if they were not sent previously.
    4. Your dental insurance card and benefits booklet if applicable.


     
  3. Do you accept dental insurance?
    1. Yes, we do. We also provide a convenient electronic method of claim processing that can shorten the refund process period. This means you can receive reimbursement as soon as possible.


     
  4. How much do you charge for a dental cleaning?
    1. It is dependent upon the health of your gums, the condition of your teeth and also how long it has been since your last cleaning.


     
  5. Why do you need to take an x-ray?
    1. The X-ray enables the dentist to diagnose and design a proper treatment plan. Our dental office uses low radiation digital x-ray technology which can decrease radiation exposure significantly, as compared to normal x-ray technology.


     
  6. What do I need to know about my dental insurance?
    1. The name of the person in your company who is in charge of employee benefits?
    2. Name of insurance carrier & phone number
      (Information patients will be asked to give when calling their insurance company:
      • Name of the subscriber
      • Employee's date of birth
      • SIN card number
      • Employer
      • Policy number
      • Division number
      • Certificate number...etc)
      • What is the annual maximum allowed per patient?
      • What is the benefit year of the policy? Example: From January 1st to December 31st
      • Is there an annual deductible? If yes, how much?
      • Dental Benefits are paid based on the PEI dental fee schedule for which year? Example: 2011 or 2012
      • How many units of scaling and or root planning are covered per year?
      • How many recall appointments are allowed annually?
      • What percentage of coverage is allowed for the following:
        • Diagnostic services
        • Preventative services
        • Restorative services
        • Endodontic services
        • Periodontal services
        • Major Treatment, example: crowns, bridges or dentures
      • What is the annual maximum for major treatments?
      • Any orthodontic coverage? Any age limit?


     
  7. What are my payment options?
    1. For your convenience our clinic provides easy payment options.
      We accept cash, cheque, Visa, MasterCard and Interac.
    2. Insurance Claims and predetermination of benefits are
      submitted electronically on your behalf.
